Exclude specific products from exchange eligibility in the "Shop Now" (exchange on your own website) flow

Roqeeb Olaniyi

What is the context  When using AfterShip Returns with the "Shop Now" / "exchange for anything" option that redirects customers to shop on the merchant's own store, customers can select any product available on the store as their exchange item. What issue do you want to address? There is currently no way to exclude specific products from being selectable as exchange items in this flow. The existing exclusion controls (the block list and excluding products from recommendations via product tags) only apply when AfterShip is recommending products or when "Exchange on AfterShip returns page" is selected. When customers shop directly on the merchant's own website via "Shop Now," these exclusions do not apply, so restricted products remain selectable. This allows customers to exchange low-value items for high-value products, resulting in margin loss and exchange abuse. The only current workaround, switching to "Exchange on AfterShip returns page," removes the on-store shopping experience the merchant wants to keep.   What outcome do you expect? The ability to exclude specific products from being eligible exchange items while still using the "Shop Now" flow where customers shop on the merchant's own website. Ideally the exclusion could be defined by SKU, in addition to collection or product tag, since some merchants do not have the relevant products grouped in a collection and may not have access to create collections in Shopify.   Who will benefit from your idea? Merchants using the "Shop Now" exchange flow who need to prevent certain products from being selected as exchange items, protecting their margins and preventing exchange abuse while preserving the branded on-site shopping experience during exchanges.

Customized returns notifications

Shane Fernandes
October 30, 2024 at 6:00 am
The current capability features a static returns approval notification. There are instances where the approval notification should be customized before being sent to the customer. Currently, the only way of doing this is to change the approval notification for all returns, save, go back to the RMA in question, approve it with the new notification, make sure no other returns are approved, go back to the nofication and amend it to how it was prior and save.   Use case: there may be a specific product that is available for exchange in store, this needs to be checked with the store first so cannot be a hard rule. If the approval notification could be amended on an adhoc basis, you could give the customer the option at the point of approval and avoid back and forth via email.

Show estimated delivery time on tracking pages

Amin Borghei
August 10, 2026 at 9:50 am
Most major carriers already provide an estimated delivery date/time as part of their tracking data, but this isn't currently surfaced in the app. Context: Customers tracking a shipment want to know when it will arrive, not just its current status. Right now they have to infer this themselves or check the carrier's own site separately. Issue to address: Add a field that displays the carrier's estimated delivery date (and time window, where the carrier provides one) on the tracking/order page. This would reduce "where is my order" support inquiries and improve the post-purchase experience. Suggestion: Pull the estimated delivery data from carriers that already expose it via their APIs, and display it prominently near the shipment status.

Voided Label Update

TYLER'S Website Support
October 14, 2026 at 7:26 pm
Currently, when a shipping label is voided and a new label is created for an order, the customer-facing AfterShip tracking dashboard continues to show the tracking information associated with the original, voided label rather than the new, active label. This results in customers seeing outdated or incorrect tracking information, even though a valid replacement label has been generated. We would like AfterShip to automatically update the tracking dashboard to reflect the most recent active shipping label whenever a previous label is voided and replaced, ensuring customers always have access to accurate tracking information for their orders.

Email Updates Box - Complaints from Customers

Victoria Lomax
October 30, 2026 at 10:21 am
Hi,   We have AfterShip built into our BigCommerce store by default. I'm not sure who to reach out to, so I would appreciate if you could please direct this to the appropriate department for me. We have received several customer complaints that when they check their shipment tracking information, they are finding the information in the orange box in the attachment misleading. Basically, where there is an option to enter your email address for delivery updates, next to it, it shows examples such as out for delivery, delivered. A lot of customers have seen this and genuinely thought that is the tracking information. More so on mobile devices, where the screen is smaller, so unless they scroll, the actual tracking is not visible. They’ve then contacted us, as their order has not been delivered and then complained that the information is confusing. Is it possible to redesign this to ensure it’s less misleading, even if it's just really boring and is a box to enter the email?   I appreciate you taking the time to consider this. Happy to assist if you need any further information. Kind regards, Vicky

Allow AfterShip customers to remove emails from the Unsubscribe list

Jim McGregor
January 23, 2025 at 4:07 pm
I have had customers who have accidently unsubscribed themselves from receiving AfterShip emails. I can see them in the Unsubscribe list, but I cannot remove them. Please add a feature that would allow AfterShip administrators to remove emails from the Unsubscribe list. Currently this process has to be done by the AfterShip tech team. By making this a self-service feature, you will reduce the labor required by the AfterShip team and make the product more efficient.

Preview and Explanation of Merchandising Strategies

Amelia Robinson
July 15, 2024 at 11:13 pm
While using personalization, I want to understand the actual product results generated by these algorithms and the reason behind the chosen product displays for shoppers.   If I can preview the recommendation results in the admin, it would reduce uncertainty, ensure optimal outcomes, and improve my marketing strategies to boost conversions.

access to Orders in the AfterShip MCP connector (Claude)

Audrey Tomba
November 3, 2026 at 12:59 pm
Hello AfterShip team, We use the AfterShip Post-Purchase connector in Claude to automate our daily delivery follow-up, and it works very well for shipments. However, the connector currently only exposes shipments (trackings) and returns. Orders without a tracking number are not accessible, although they are visible in the AfterShip admin under Tracking > Orders. Our use case: every morning we want to detect orders that are still "Unfulfilled" (or "Partially fulfilled") more than 2 business days after the order date, and that have no tracking yet, so we can follow up with our suppliers. Could you add the following to the MCP connector? 1. A list_orders tool with filters on fulfillment status (unfulfilled, partially fulfilled), order status (open / canceled), order date (placed_at) and order number. 2. For each order: fulfillments with their trackings (to know whether a tracking exists), line items, customer, tags and order notes. 3. Access to the internal comments added on an order (the "Comments" section of the order page), so we can exclude orders already handled by our team. 4. If possible, order-level custom fields (e.g. our "isBackorder" flag, which today only exists on shipments). Is this on your roadmap? In the meantime, is there another supported way (API endpoint, scheduled export or webhook) to get this list of unfulfilled orders automatically? Thank you for your help.
