Enhance exchange process for tax reporting reconciliation purpose

Alexander Cook
April 3, 2024 at 10:25 pm
As a business owner, having precise accounting records is essential for tax purposes. It's particularly important to account for returns correctly by adjusting for them and deducting the relevant taxes to prevent overpayment.   I've observed that Shopify currently only accommodates refunds, lacking store credit or exchange options for returns. Therefore, if aftership Return could support all three options and assist in reconciling taxes and producing accurate tax reports for returns, it would greatly benefit our operations.

Send the Delivered Status Back to Shopify app

Rita Agarawal
January 7, 2025 at 11:32 am
Currently the aftership is one way communication making it diffucult for business to see integrated full status at one place again when customer login to their shopify page they see status of item still on the way as shopify stops at fullfilled stge. Though the track order option by Aftership is good it is still a bad customer experience.

With your ads...you lost me.

Glen Wolinsky
October 7, 2026 at 6:15 pm
I have loved your app from the start. And improvements made along the way have been spot on. But now you lost me in both content and execution.    First, you put in ads. One of things I loved was no ads. But, hey, that revenues hard to pass up forever, especially after you've built your user base.   Second, I could have dealt with the ads if you had placed in a footer bar. But when you place the ads as large blocks right in the middle of the data, you lost me.   I was a developer for over 30 years on several different platforms. I must say that decision alone makes my top 20 of bad UI choices.   So, I will be unloading your app in favor of one that has no ads and all the functionality I need. It is a shame, because you do beat them out in feature, although not too much.   If you would at least move them to the footer then I would most likely return

Email Updates Box - Complaints from Customers

Victoria Lomax
October 30, 2026 at 10:21 am
Hi,   We have AfterShip built into our BigCommerce store by default. I'm not sure who to reach out to, so I would appreciate if you could please direct this to the appropriate department for me. We have received several customer complaints that when they check their shipment tracking information, they are finding the information in the orange box in the attachment misleading. Basically, where there is an option to enter your email address for delivery updates, next to it, it shows examples such as out for delivery, delivered. A lot of customers have seen this and genuinely thought that is the tracking information. More so on mobile devices, where the screen is smaller, so unless they scroll, the actual tracking is not visible. They’ve then contacted us, as their order has not been delivered and then complained that the information is confusing. Is it possible to redesign this to ensure it’s less misleading, even if it's just really boring and is a box to enter the email?   I appreciate you taking the time to consider this. Happy to assist if you need any further information. Kind regards, Vicky

Warranty Flow Improvement - Label & No Label notification

Jason Ma
February 3, 2025 at 7:26 pm
When a warranty is approved, you can choose to include an label. In the “Warranty claim approved” email, there is no ability to account for this decision. We would need to add an ability to have wording around a label being included as well as a label not being included. Below is an example email we have now.   Two ways this could be addressed: 1. Split this notification into 2 notifications: “Warranty claim approved - with label” and “Warranty claim approved - no label”. 2. Add Flows to Warranties with Split functionality for generated labels.

Required custom fields on the returns page (e.g. serial number)

Jamie Wright
October 7, 2026 at 2:28 pm
The problem: We can't process a return without the item's serial number, and many merchants selling electronics, equipment or warranty-backed products are in the same position. The only option today is to make comments required on every return reason. Customers can type anything to get past it, so our team still has to chase missing or wrong serial numbers by hand, which slows down refunds for everyone. The request: Let merchants add custom fields for each item on the returns page, with: The option to make a field required before the return can be submitted Why it matters: Correct information at the point of submission means fewer bad returns, less admin, quicker refunds and happier customers. It also makes AfterShip Returns a better fit for any brand that tracks returns by serial number, IMEI or batch code.

Voided Label Update

TYLER'S Website Support
October 14, 2026 at 7:26 pm
Currently, when a shipping label is voided and a new label is created for an order, the customer-facing AfterShip tracking dashboard continues to show the tracking information associated with the original, voided label rather than the new, active label. This results in customers seeing outdated or incorrect tracking information, even though a valid replacement label has been generated. We would like AfterShip to automatically update the tracking dashboard to reflect the most recent active shipping label whenever a previous label is voided and replaced, ensuring customers always have access to accurate tracking information for their orders.

Feature Request: Dedicated tracking page and delivery flow for digital licenses and accounts

Ali Tz
June 17, 2026 at 11:31 pm
Hello AfterShip Team, We run an e-commerce platform that sells digital licenses and premium accounts (our store is https://accountlicense.ir/). We are looking to use AfterShip to manage our post-purchase experience and customer tracking, but we've run into a limitation because our products are purely digital. Currently, AfterShip is heavily tailored toward physical goods with carrier tracking numbers. Since we deliver license keys and credentials digitally (via email/SMS), we would love to see a dedicated "Digital Delivery Flow" in AfterShip. Specifically, it would be amazing to have: 1. A tracking page layout optimized for digital goods that displays license activation instructions or download links instead of shipping carrier maps. 2. Webhook and API triggers that update the order status to "Delivered" when the digital product is sent to the customer's portal or inbox. 3. Custom post-purchase emails specifically designed to track when a customer reveals or views their digital key. This feature would be incredibly helpful for digital merchants like us. Currently, adapting standard physical tracking for a site like https://accountlicense.ir/ requires confusing workarounds. Are there any plans to support customized tracking portals for digital-only products in your roadmap? Thank you!

The “Back” button on the RC portal is not obvious or prominent enough. It is too hard to find and blends into the page.

Publish Webhook Outgoing IPs as a Machine-Readable Plain-Text Endpoint

Martinho Dias
June 3, 2026 at 7:47 pm
Currently, AfterShip's webhook outgoing IP list is only available on an HTML documentation page (https://www.aftership.com/docs/tracking/webhook/webhook-outgoing-ips). This makes it impossible to automate IP allowlist management in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows.   Problem: Teams that use IP-based firewalls to secure their webhook endpoints must manually monitor the documentation page for any IP changes and update their firewall rules accordingly. If a change is missed, it can cause webhook delivery failures and broken integrations.   Request: Please publish the webhook outgoing IP list as a dedicated plain-text endpoint — similar to how Cloudflare publishes theirs at https://www.cloudflare.com/ips-v4 — where each IP is returned on a separate line.   This would allow teams to: * Fetch the IP list programmatically as part of their CI/CD or IaC pipelines * Keep firewall allowlists automatically in sync without manual intervention * Avoid service disruptions caused by missed IP changes This is a standard practice among major API providers and would significantly improve the developer experience for customers who manage network security programmatically.
