API Integration for Instagram Feed

Andrew Bird
August 14, 2025 at 12:47 pm
I'd like to log an enhancement request for the Tracking page editor. Currently the section where we add social media connectors is limited in connection options. Specifically for Instagram (which is a really cool feature) the only way to connect is using our own credentials (user name/password login). This is an unacceptable option as it exposes us to being hacked and is a security concern obviously. The better way to do this is via Instagram's API connection: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform. Can you please log that as a high priority enhancement request? Should we decided to stay with AfterShip, this will be a critical branding requirement.

How can AfterShip improve the shipping experience for customers purchasing hair extensions or hair care products, ensuring real-time tracking updates and timely delivery?

To enhance the shipping experience for customers purchasing hair extensions or hair care products, AfterShip could focus on providing real-time tracking updates that are both detailed and easy to understand. For the hair industry, ensuring timely delivery is critical, as customers expect to receive their products in a timely manner, especially for events like weddings, parties, or other special occasions. Additionally, offering automated notifications at each stage of the shipping process — from dispatch to in-transit updates and delivery confirmation — would allow customers to stay informed and reduce anxiety around the arrival of their products. A specific feature that would be beneficial in the hair industry is providing an estimated delivery window based on the type of hair products purchased, considering how delicate and time-sensitive hair products can be. Another improvement could be offering customized delivery options, like express shipping for urgent orders or delivery tracking tailored to customers’ needs based on their location, enhancing convenience and customer experience. By integrating these features, AfterShip could help ensure a seamless experience for customers in the hair industry, driving satisfaction and repeat business.

Free-Plan Analytics Dashboard for Tracking Page Performance

David james
July 14, 2025 at 10:47 am
Hi AfterShip Community, Context: I run a small Shopify store (~50 orders/month) using AfterShip’s free plan to track shipments (USPS, UPS). While the free plan offers basic tracking (Web:10), there’s no way to analyze tracking page performance (e.g., visitor clicks, engagement) without upgrading to premium plans, which can be costly for small businesses (Web:18). Issue: Small merchants lack access to basic analytics on the free plan to understand how customers interact with tracking pages, limiting optimization efforts. Outcome: I propose a lightweight analytics dashboard in the free plan, showing metrics like tracking page visits and click-through rates (e.g., to return portals). This would help optimize post-purchase experiences without needing a paid plan. Beneficiaries: Small e-commerce businesses, startups, and solo entrepreneurs using the free plan would gain insights to improve customer engagement and retention. What do you think? Any similar needs or suggestions to refine this idea?

Send emails with tracking information

Thomas George
October 29, 2025 at 1:40 am
Instead of directly integrating Aftership with Gmail, I would like to send my emails with package information to an aftership email address associated with my account, for aftership to parse and automatically show tracking information.

The “Back” button on the RC portal is not obvious or prominent enough. It is too hard to find and blends into the page.

Currently you can manually refund the shipping fee in the admin manually, but would like the ability for it to be automatic.

Email Updates Box - Complaints from Customers

Victoria Lomax
October 30, 2026 at 10:21 am
Hi,   We have AfterShip built into our BigCommerce store by default. I'm not sure who to reach out to, so I would appreciate if you could please direct this to the appropriate department for me. We have received several customer complaints that when they check their shipment tracking information, they are finding the information in the orange box in the attachment misleading. Basically, where there is an option to enter your email address for delivery updates, next to it, it shows examples such as out for delivery, delivered. A lot of customers have seen this and genuinely thought that is the tracking information. More so on mobile devices, where the screen is smaller, so unless they scroll, the actual tracking is not visible. They’ve then contacted us, as their order has not been delivered and then complained that the information is confusing. Is it possible to redesign this to ensure it’s less misleading, even if it's just really boring and is a box to enter the email?   I appreciate you taking the time to consider this. Happy to assist if you need any further information. Kind regards, Vicky

Can AI be used to address differences among products within the same category?

Nathan Rivera
April 15, 2024 at 8:52 am
I work in the furniture industry with thousands of products and continuous new product listings.   Consumers often inquire about variations in materials and sizes between similar pieces of furniture, placing a significant burden on my support team. Generating comparison pages for every query we receive is unfeasible due to the volume of requests.   Given the potential of AI to suggest comparable items, could it also be leveraged to pinpoint disparities among products and present these distinctions to consumers? Such a system can alleviate my workload significantly and potentially reduce bounce rates as well.
