Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Have questions about the Idea Portal? Find your answers here.

1. What’s the Idea Portal?
The AfterShip Idea Portal is a feedback platform that collects user suggestions to optimize products. Your ideas help improve AfterShip for everyone.

By posting your ideas or engaging with those from industry peers, you can shape the AfterShip product roadmap.
2. How can I engage with the Idea Portal?
Anyone can view ideas without logging in. To post, vote for, comment on, or follow ideas, you must log in to your AfterShip account.

We encourage polite and positive engagement. Do not share confidential information, including screenshots, or advertise other products or services. We reserve the right to remove any ideas or comments that fail to comply.
3. How do I create an idea?
Click the “Create idea” button. Enter a brief title, provide a detailed description, select relevant tags, and click “Create” to publish your idea. Currently, published ideas can't be edited or deleted.

If you leave the page while editing, your draft will be temporarily saved in your browser cache.
4. How can I make my idea stand out?
Well-crafted ideas help product teams understand the value of the feature you want.

For your title, we recommend a one-sentence summary of your idea. When writing your description, consider including these elements:

  • Context:
    Describe the situation or circumstance.

  • Need:
Describe the issue you want to address. Focus on one need at a time.

  • Outcome:
Describe the desired result when this need is met.

  • Impact:
Explain why or how your idea can benefit your business and others.

5. What do the idea statuses mean?
We will update the status of each idea to keep you informed of its progress. Here's what each status represents:

  • Submitted:
This is the default status after your idea is successfully posted.

  • Accepted:
Your idea has been recognized for future consideration, but there is no plan to implement it this year.

  • Planned:
Your idea has been officially included into our product roadmap.

  • In development:
Your idea is currently being designed or developed.

  • Delivered:
Your idea has been implemented and is now live.

  • Under review:
Your idea is currently under review and is not visible to other users.

  • Unpublished:
Your idea was found to contain sensitive or non-compliant content and has been removed from public view.

6. How does AfterShip handle and update submitted ideas?
Submitted ideas are reviewed by the AfterShip product teams every month. If additional information is needed, we will contact you via email. You can also provide further details by commenting directly on your idea post.

Once the status of your idea is updated, you will be notified by email. We might also provide direct feedback on your post when updating the idea status.

Product teams publish their roadmaps every quarter. Ideas that receive the most upvotes are more likely to be included in a roadmap and planned for future releases.
7. Can I receive updates on an idea without upvoting it?
Yes. Click the “Follow” button on an idea to get email updates. You’ll be notified when the idea’s status changes or if an AfterShip admin comments on it.
