Create a flow for Weather Holds on wine

Hi there,

We ship wine, which means orders are often held by our fulfilment center when temperatures along the route are above or below certian threshold we have set. I would like to create a flow that automatically notifies the customer that their order has been flagged for a weather hold and ensures them it is still on the way. Is this possible? Thanks

We're excited to let you know that you can now create custom pre-shipment statuses and set up automatic notifications for these statuses! This feature works with orders and fulfillments imported through the AfterShip Commerce API.

Here's how the workflow operates:

  1. Create a Custom Status - Set up a custom status like "Held by Fulfillment Center" to identify specific steps in your fulfillment process. Help article
  2. Configure a Status Update Flow - Create notification workflow triggers based on updates to this custom status, ensuring timely communication regarding the fulfillment stage. Help article
  3. Import Orders and Fulfillments - Once you've imported orders and fulfillments via our Commerce API, our system will check if any fulfillment is marked as "Held by Fulfillment Center."
  4. Send out Notifications - When an order matches your custom status (like "Held by Fulfillment Center"), the system updates the status through the API and instantly sends the notification you've configured.
