Manually add orders not yet shipped

Emily Kell
March 5, 2026 at 12:34 am
I don't want to sync my email, so it would be great to be able to add a record for items that I've ordered but haven't shipped yet. I can then edit/update the shipment when the tracking number is available.

Allow order editing permissions to be configured per country

We'd like the ability to restrict which order-editing options are available on a per-country basis, rather than applying the same set of options globally.   Many merchants work with regional checkout or fulfillment partners (e.g. Global-E) that prohibit certain order changes after an order is placed in specific countries. For example, a merchant might need to limit editing to only "apply discount code" and "cancel order" for a subset of countries, while keeping the full set of editing options available everywhere else.   Being able to configure order-editing permissions by country/region would help merchants stay compliant with regional partner restrictions without giving up flexibility in other markets.

When utilizing an HTML email editor, I aim to display and personalize shipment or order items within my tracking notifications.   This feature would allow shoppers to conveniently view their purchases directly in the email, thereby improving customer satisfaction.

Add SKU numbers in the return portal

Rowan Valentin
January 28, 2025 at 2:24 pm
Goal: To make it easier for customers to accurately select the correct item for return when using the return portal. Preconditions: The customer has placed an order containing multiple items, some of which may have similar or identical titles, colors, or sizes. The SKU numbers for the items exist in the system but are not currently displayed in the return portal. Trigger: The customer initiates a return and accesses the return portal to select the item(s) they wish to return. Basic Flow: The customer logs into the return portal. The portal displays the items from their order, including details such as title, color, size, and now the SKU number for each item. The customer uses the SKU number to cross-reference their order confirmation or invoice, ensuring they select the correct item for return. The customer completes the return process with confidence that the correct item has been selected. Postconditions: The customer successfully returns the correct item without confusion. The support team receives fewer inquiries about mismatched returns. Benefits: For Customers: Improved user experience by reducing confusion when selecting items for return. Greater confidence in completing returns independently. For the Business: Reduced customer support requests related to returns. Increased efficiency in processing returns, minimizing errors caused by incorrect item selection. Priority: Medium – This enhancement has a high potential to improve customer satisfaction with a relatively low implementation effort. Technical Requirements: Modify the front-end display of the return portal to include SKU numbers as part of the product details. Ensure the SKU numbers are fetched and displayed consistently across all customer orders. This use case focuses on enhancing the clarity of the return process for customers while streamlining operational efficiency for the business.

Required custom fields on the returns page (e.g. serial number)

Jamie Wright
October 7, 2026 at 2:28 pm
The problem: We can't process a return without the item's serial number, and many merchants selling electronics, equipment or warranty-backed products are in the same position. The only option today is to make comments required on every return reason. Customers can type anything to get past it, so our team still has to chase missing or wrong serial numbers by hand, which slows down refunds for everyone. The request: Let merchants add custom fields for each item on the returns page, with: The option to make a field required before the return can be submitted Why it matters: Correct information at the point of submission means fewer bad returns, less admin, quicker refunds and happier customers. It also makes AfterShip Returns a better fit for any brand that tracks returns by serial number, IMEI or batch code.

Aftership returns showing resolved after refunded in Shopify

ServiceTeam Clickstop
July 28, 2026 at 7:07 pm
In our business we refund direcly in Shopify for our returns that are made from our online website. It would be nice if the status of Shopify shows refunded or partically refund that Aftership would show the return as resolved. Some of the tracking information has to be put in manaully and we have multiple people on our team and if they do not do it correctly our customers receive emails that their return was not send and is expiring when they have already been refunded.

Free-Plan Analytics Dashboard for Tracking Page Performance

David james
July 14, 2025 at 10:47 am
Hi AfterShip Community, Context: I run a small Shopify store (~50 orders/month) using AfterShip’s free plan to track shipments (USPS, UPS). While the free plan offers basic tracking (Web:10), there’s no way to analyze tracking page performance (e.g., visitor clicks, engagement) without upgrading to premium plans, which can be costly for small businesses (Web:18). Issue: Small merchants lack access to basic analytics on the free plan to understand how customers interact with tracking pages, limiting optimization efforts. Outcome: I propose a lightweight analytics dashboard in the free plan, showing metrics like tracking page visits and click-through rates (e.g., to return portals). This would help optimize post-purchase experiences without needing a paid plan. Beneficiaries: Small e-commerce businesses, startups, and solo entrepreneurs using the free plan would gain insights to improve customer engagement and retention. What do you think? Any similar needs or suggestions to refine this idea?

access to Orders in the AfterShip MCP connector (Claude)

Audrey Tomba
November 3, 2026 at 12:59 pm
Hello AfterShip team, We use the AfterShip Post-Purchase connector in Claude to automate our daily delivery follow-up, and it works very well for shipments. However, the connector currently only exposes shipments (trackings) and returns. Orders without a tracking number are not accessible, although they are visible in the AfterShip admin under Tracking > Orders. Our use case: every morning we want to detect orders that are still "Unfulfilled" (or "Partially fulfilled") more than 2 business days after the order date, and that have no tracking yet, so we can follow up with our suppliers. Could you add the following to the MCP connector? 1. A list_orders tool with filters on fulfillment status (unfulfilled, partially fulfilled), order status (open / canceled), order date (placed_at) and order number. 2. For each order: fulfillments with their trackings (to know whether a tracking exists), line items, customer, tags and order notes. 3. Access to the internal comments added on an order (the "Comments" section of the order page), so we can exclude orders already handled by our team. 4. If possible, order-level custom fields (e.g. our "isBackorder" flag, which today only exists on shipments). Is this on your roadmap? In the meantime, is there another supported way (API endpoint, scheduled export or webhook) to get this list of unfulfilled orders automatically? Thank you for your help.
