Add SKU numbers in the return portal
Rowan Valentin
January 28, 2025 at 2:24 pm
Goal:
To make it easier for customers to accurately select the correct item for return when using the return portal.
Preconditions:
The customer has placed an order containing multiple items, some of which may have similar or identical titles, colors, or sizes.
The SKU numbers for the items exist in the system but are not currently displayed in the return portal.
Trigger:
The customer initiates a return and accesses the return portal to select the item(s) they wish to return.
Basic Flow:
The customer logs into the return portal.
The portal displays the items from their order, including details such as title, color, size, and now the SKU number for each item.
The customer uses the SKU number to cross-reference their order confirmation or invoice, ensuring they select the correct item for return.
The customer completes the return process with confidence that the correct item has been selected.
Postconditions:
The customer successfully returns the correct item without confusion.
The support team receives fewer inquiries about mismatched returns.
Benefits:
For Customers:
Improved user experience by reducing confusion when selecting items for return.
Greater confidence in completing returns independently.
For the Business:
Reduced customer support requests related to returns.
Increased efficiency in processing returns, minimizing errors caused by incorrect item selection.
Priority: Medium – This enhancement has a high potential to improve customer satisfaction with a relatively low implementation effort.
Technical Requirements:
Modify the front-end display of the return portal to include SKU numbers as part of the product details.
Ensure the SKU numbers are fetched and displayed consistently across all customer orders.
This use case focuses on enhancing the clarity of the return process for customers while streamlining operational efficiency for the business.

Display Order ID and RMA ID in the Return Status Section of the Return Summary Page
Femy Elizabeth Biju
July 15, 2026 at 5:14 am
Background
On the Return Summary page, the Return Status section is commonly used to display shipping instructions that guide customers on how to return their items. As part of these instructions, customers are often required to include both their RMA ID and Order ID with the return shipment so that the warehouse and processing teams can identify and process the return correctly.
Currently, the RMA ID is only displayed at the top of the page, and the Order ID is not prominently visible within the Return Status section.
Requested Enhancement
Add configurable fields within the Return Status section of the Return Summary page to display:
* Order ID
* RMA ID
These fields should be displayed alongside the shipping instructions and return status details, making them easily accessible to customers while preparing and packaging their return shipment. We are open to any placement within the Return Summary page that provides clear visibility and easy access to these details.
Business Use Case
Our client specifically requested this enhancement because their return instructions ask customers to include the RMA ID and Order ID with the return package. Having these details displayed directly within the Return Status section would:
* Improve visibility of important return information.
* Reduce customer confusion when preparing returns.
* Eliminate the need for customers to search for these details elsewhere on the page.
* Help ensure return shipments contain the correct identification information.
* Improve operational efficiency and reduce return processing delays.
Expected Outcome
Customers can quickly locate the required Order ID and RMA ID in the same section where they view their shipping instructions, resulting in a smoother and more user-friendly return experience.
Thank you for considering this enhancement. We believe it would benefit merchants who require customers to include reference identifiers with returned packages and would improve the overall returns experience.

Aftership Tracking App Suggestions
Saix XIII
September 14, 2026 at 6:39 am
I just started using the app today and overall I do like it, but I have a few minor suggestions.
1. A compact mode: right now the list of tracking numbers/packages is very spread out. Consolidating it would make it look cleaner, IMO.
2. Allow me to put tags on them, custom or otherwise. For example I have a few incoming packages and a few outgoing ones. It would be nice to add tags to differentiate them and also filter by them if needed.
Hopefully that made sense. Thank you.

Each product page has searchable and filterable product reviews to set customer expectations.

For instance, customers can quickly locate reviews based on size, incorporate images and videos, consider age, product characteristics, and the reviewer's recommendation status.

Include a SKU column - Returns Dashboard
Lewis Steen
March 21, 2025 at 10:19 am
It would be useful to have a Sku column amognst the list when editing the returns dashboard. The image of the item is useful but often the item is enclosed in a boxed which is marked with the sku. Therefore at first glance, the sku is seen before the physical item.

Create a flow for Weather Holds on wine
Sarah Swindell
March 13, 2025 at 8:32 pm
Hi there,
We ship wine, which means orders are often held by our fulfilment center when temperatures along the route are above or below certian threshold we have set. I would like to create a flow that automatically notifies the customer that their order has been flagged for a weather hold and ensures them it is still on the way. Is this possible? Thanks

Exclude specific products from exchange eligibility in the "Shop Now" (exchange on your own website) flow
Roqeeb Olaniyi
August 22, 2026 at 1:14 am
What is the context
When using AfterShip Returns with the "Shop Now" / "exchange for anything" option that redirects customers to shop on the merchant's own store, customers can select any product available on the store as their exchange item.
What issue do you want to address?
There is currently no way to exclude specific products from being selectable as exchange items in this flow. The existing exclusion controls (the block list and excluding products from recommendations via product tags) only apply when AfterShip is recommending products or when "Exchange on AfterShip returns page" is selected. When customers shop directly on the merchant's own website via "Shop Now," these exclusions do not apply, so restricted products remain selectable. This allows customers to exchange low-value items for high-value products, resulting in margin loss and exchange abuse. The only current workaround, switching to "Exchange on AfterShip returns page," removes the on-store shopping experience the merchant wants to keep.
What outcome do you expect?
The ability to exclude specific products from being eligible exchange items while still using the "Shop Now" flow where customers shop on the merchant's own website. Ideally the exclusion could be defined by SKU, in addition to collection or product tag, since some merchants do not have the relevant products grouped in a collection and may not have access to create collections in Shopify.
Who will benefit from your idea?
Merchants using the "Shop Now" exchange flow who need to prevent certain products from being selected as exchange items, protecting their margins and preventing exchange abuse while preserving the branded on-site shopping experience during exchanges.

Provide Cost of tracking as data in analytics
Ethan White
May 23, 2024 at 1:17 pm
The ability to see how much it cost per tracking label for the carrier, alongside all the other analytics would be beneficial to business operations.
Having “cost” as a piece of data collect and display in analytics will help us make larger business decisions when it comes to choice of carrier preferences to know which carrier is best to work with in the long run. I believe this feature will be great value add to Aftership as well!
