Email Updates Box - Complaints from Customers

Victoria Lomax
October 30, 2026 at 10:21 am
Hi,   We have AfterShip built into our BigCommerce store by default. I'm not sure who to reach out to, so I would appreciate if you could please direct this to the appropriate department for me. We have received several customer complaints that when they check their shipment tracking information, they are finding the information in the orange box in the attachment misleading. Basically, where there is an option to enter your email address for delivery updates, next to it, it shows examples such as out for delivery, delivered. A lot of customers have seen this and genuinely thought that is the tracking information. More so on mobile devices, where the screen is smaller, so unless they scroll, the actual tracking is not visible. They’ve then contacted us, as their order has not been delivered and then complained that the information is confusing. Is it possible to redesign this to ensure it’s less misleading, even if it's just really boring and is a box to enter the email?   I appreciate you taking the time to consider this. Happy to assist if you need any further information. Kind regards, Vicky

Support upload documents through the Shipping API.

As a merchant, I aim to provide Aftership with supplementary shipping documents for the creation of shipping labels. By submitting these additional documents to Aftership, they can be forwarded to the carrier during the label creation process within the carrier's system.   These shipping labels and accompanying documents are essential for shipping activities, particularly for cross-border customs declaration purposes.

The “Back” button on the RC portal is not obvious or prominent enough. It is too hard to find and blends into the page.

Publish Webhook Outgoing IPs as a Machine-Readable Plain-Text Endpoint

Martinho Dias
June 3, 2026 at 7:47 pm
Currently, AfterShip's webhook outgoing IP list is only available on an HTML documentation page (https://www.aftership.com/docs/tracking/webhook/webhook-outgoing-ips). This makes it impossible to automate IP allowlist management in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows.   Problem: Teams that use IP-based firewalls to secure their webhook endpoints must manually monitor the documentation page for any IP changes and update their firewall rules accordingly. If a change is missed, it can cause webhook delivery failures and broken integrations.   Request: Please publish the webhook outgoing IP list as a dedicated plain-text endpoint — similar to how Cloudflare publishes theirs at https://www.cloudflare.com/ips-v4 — where each IP is returned on a separate line.   This would allow teams to: * Fetch the IP list programmatically as part of their CI/CD or IaC pipelines * Keep firewall allowlists automatically in sync without manual intervention * Avoid service disruptions caused by missed IP changes This is a standard practice among major API providers and would significantly improve the developer experience for customers who manage network security programmatically.

Personalized discount display rule

Lucas Scott

So, as a seller who often runs campaigns, I would love to have a cool discount setup that can be customized based on how customers behave.   For example, I could keep discounts hidden for shoppers with shopping carts over $1,000 but display them for those who have smaller carts, so that they would shop more to get a better discount.   This strategy can be effectively applied to our product recommendations, enhancing conversion rates and boosting average order values.

Notification before wine is shipping

Daniel Hauck
December 9, 2025 at 3:29 pm
A notification to give the customer the opportunity to change their requested ship date. This allows wineries to change the date without re-directing.  Using the RSD and sending a notification 3 days or so before.

Export using screen layout

mlee

When exporting, it would be handy if there was a third Data Format option.  In addition to Standard and Custom, something like “Same as current display” or something like that.  An option that would create the csv or xlsx file with the same columns in the same order that are displayed in the current view on the web page. I find myself adding or removing columns in the dashboard in order to see what I want to look at but, if I want to then export it, I need to either recreate the view again in the export wizard (which isn’t always even possible) or export it standard and move stuff around in excel.

Free-Plan Analytics Dashboard for Tracking Page Performance

David james
July 14, 2025 at 10:47 am
Hi AfterShip Community, Context: I run a small Shopify store (~50 orders/month) using AfterShip’s free plan to track shipments (USPS, UPS). While the free plan offers basic tracking (Web:10), there’s no way to analyze tracking page performance (e.g., visitor clicks, engagement) without upgrading to premium plans, which can be costly for small businesses (Web:18). Issue: Small merchants lack access to basic analytics on the free plan to understand how customers interact with tracking pages, limiting optimization efforts. Outcome: I propose a lightweight analytics dashboard in the free plan, showing metrics like tracking page visits and click-through rates (e.g., to return portals). This would help optimize post-purchase experiences without needing a paid plan. Beneficiaries: Small e-commerce businesses, startups, and solo entrepreneurs using the free plan would gain insights to improve customer engagement and retention. What do you think? Any similar needs or suggestions to refine this idea?

Carry over discounts for exchange on same items

Amy McDonnell
January 23, 2025 at 4:33 am
It would be great if we could allow the discount to carry over to the new order if a customer is just exchanging a size, at the moment our customer is choosing to refund rather then exchange sizing because they have to pay the difference between the original discounted price and the price.
